Climb the citadel of Sigiriya which was built in 5th century. Sigiriya is treated as one of the most remarkable creations in the world, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). Path through the gardens along Stone stairways come to the Lion Gate. Only the rock carving and the brick structure is evident today of the lion’s mouth through which millions of people have walked to admire he beauty of this magnificent citadel. Transfer to Anuradhapura
Visit Anuradhapura the first capital of Sri Lanka which is a UNESCO world heritage city. Anuradhapura was once a very wealthy monastic city which created a unique culture and a great civilization. Visit Mihintale
Mihintale is an interesting site both holistically & historically. Buddhism was introduced to Sri Lanka by Arahath Mahinda on top of this mountain peak thousands of years back. It is been visited by many Buddhist & non Buddhist visitors. A number of archaeologically important monuments could be still seen scattered around the place.

Transfer to Polonnaruwa & Explore Polonnaruwa by Cycles.
Visit Polonnaruwa the second capital of Sri Lanka from 1017 A.D to 1235 A.D. Polonnaruwa is also a UNESCO world heritage city. You will be able to see the ruins of Royal Palace king Parakramabahu, Audience Hall, the statue of king Parakramabahu, Watadage, the Galpotha, Parakrama Samudraya (Sea of Parakrama) which was built by King Parakramabahu I, covers an area of 5940 acres and the elegant Lotus pond was built in 12th century.There are also famous monument of worship such as the Gal Viharaya which has 4 magnificent carved Buddha statues, Kiri Vehera (the remains of a former Temple of the Tooth Relic) and Shiva Temple. The city will be explored by bicycles.

Transfer to Matale & visit a spice garden
Visit a spice garden in Matale to see different spices for which Sri Lanka is famous for. During the medieval periods Muslim traders dominated spice trading routes throughout the Indian Ocean. Spices had been highly valued as they were more than a flavoring for food. They were also used as medicines and food preservative. Ceylon cinnamon was worth its weight in gold during medial times. Guest will be able to see different spices and how some of these spices are grown and processed. Witness Cookery demonstrations as well.
